Innovation Meets Collaboration at Tech Connect Conference

The highly anticipated event saw Game Loungers from across the globe gather in Malta for a day of teamwork and tech.

Game Lounge became a hub for innovation and cross-team collaboration again in August, when its popular Tech Connect Conference brought its global teams together in Malta.

For this year’s conference – springboarded from the success of the 2023 edition and  organised by CTO Keith Cassar, alongside a dedicated group of coordinators – Game Lounge was all about sparking new ideas and leaning into the power of working as one.

A Day of Connection and Discovery

The Tech Connect Conference was also an opportunity for Game Loungers to connect in every sense, both in terms of tech and with each other.

The day’s agenda included many exciting and insightful team-building exercises, workshops and presentations that enabled participants to step outside their day-to-day roles.

Cross-team-building activities led by Matthew Croker offered some unexpected surprises, revealing hidden skills and leadership abilities, while boosting camaraderie with creative problem-solving across different departments.

Lightning Talks: Quick fire Inspiration

In a series of ‘Lightning Talks’, each speaker had just seven minutes to present their big ideas.

From Luana Farrugia’s overview of release checklists to Sergey Tadevosyan’s insights on Agile product management, these fast-paced talks kept the energy high and the ideas flowing. The variety of topics – ranging from DevOps to new CSS features – ensured there was something for everyone, and the format proved to be a hit.

A Highlight: Professor Alexei Dingli’s AI Insights

A special moment came from Professor Alexiei Dingli, a national expert in artificial intelligence and digital transformation. Professor Dingli’s Tech Talk on the future of AI gave Game Loungers a thought-provoking glimpse into how AI is shaping industries and its potential to revolutionise the future of work.

His fascinating insights captivated everyone at the conference, leaving many inspired to think more creatively about how they could apply AI within their own teams.

Insight Labs: Practical Solutions for Real Challenges

The afternoon brought hands-on workshops known as ‘Insight Labs’, where teams came together to tackle real-world challenges with collaborative problem-solving.

Whether it was improving incident management with Gerrit Gruesgen and Ian Wright, or embedding quality throughout the development process with Robert Cassar Pace and Michele Schembri, these workshops were all about practical solutions.

The emphasis on collaboration showcased new talents within the teams, while the following Omni Team Presentation ignited discussions and left Game Loungers buzzing with new ideas and strategies to implement.

Looking Forward to Stay Ahead

The Tech Connect Conference was a resounding success, with Game Loungers loving the diverse blend of quick fire talks, interactive sessions and opportunities to connect.

The feedback was clear: more events like this will keep the momentum going at Game Lounge, with a focus on innovation, team-building and even more practical workshops.

Tech Connect left everyone eager for what’s next, proving once again that innovation plus collaboration are key to staying ahead in the fast-paced world of iGaming.
