Game Lounge Malta Blooms with Garden Makeover

Game Lounge employees can now unwind and soothe their souls in the new vegetable and herb garden on the office terrace. This lush green space is open for everyone in the company to enjoy.

On June 3rd, the Malta office officially opened the garden, thanks to local nursery partners, Piscopo Gardens. They handled the entire setup, including installing an advanced irrigation system to keep the garden well-watered in Malta’s arid climate. The terrace now boasts a flourishing vegetable and herb garden featuring habanero orange and chocolate peppers, coriander, common sage, parsley, fresh chives, curry plants, rosemary, and mint.

Cultivating Calm

Once Piscopo Gardens set up the space, six Game Loungers were invited to the garden to participate in the planting. One Game Lounger helping with the gardening said, “It’s wonderful to have a green space at the office where we can take some time out and connect with nature.”

Part of the motivation behind the project was to provide a more relaxing space for all employees to enjoy. A place that allowed the team to step away from the office environment to remain fresh and energised throughout the day.

Another Game Lounger found that participating in the early days of the garden project had more benefits: “Taking care of the plants during breaks has been a calming experience for me.”

The team hopes all Game Loungers will participate in taking care of the garden. As a shared responsibility, the garden also provides a common goal and promotes a sense of community. It is a way to connect all of them in a new and uniquely different way than they are used to being connected at work—through green thumbs.

So, grab a pinch of sage for your quinoa salad; try some mint in your pesto pasta; chop some chives for your creamy potato soup; because the Game Lounge garden is officially open for all staff to enjoy!
